Each annual volume is constructed around a particular topical theme.  The Register\u2019s critical perspective on the contradictions that led to the demise of communist regimes as well as social democracy and the dynamics of trade union mobilization, have guided the journal\u2019s approach to exploring the possibilities of socialist renewal, strategies of \u2018structural reform\u2019 and radical democratization.
